Dubai: The immigration department has tightened checks at airports in the UAE to find job seekers on visitor visas. Hundreds of people who came from Idukki and Kottayam districts were detained at Dubai airport yesterday due to lack of proper travel documents.
1. Arrivals on visitor visa will be asked at the airports about the purpose of visit, place of stay and money to spend. Those who do not answer clearly will not be allowed to exit the airport.
2. Those arriving on visitor and tourist visas are not permitted to work. Even if recruitment agencies and travel agencies guarantee employment on visitor visas, it is illegal.
3. Those who come on employment visa must complete the necessary visa procedures to come to the UAE on entry permit and join the work.
4. If the purpose of the visitor’s visa is for tourism, they should carry the hotel information, return ticket and money to spend in the country.
5. If you are visiting a relative or friend, you should carry a copy of their visa, passport, address and phone number. Information about the place of residence should also be given.
