Trump to Deport Out of US at Least 11,000 EU Citizens

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency ICE plans to carry out mass deportations following the start of Trump’s administration term, which is set to expire in four years.

The total number of EU citizens that could be deported stands at 11,379, the majority of which are Spanish citizens, Schengen.News reports.

According to a document published by Fox News, a total of 4,445 Romanian citizens, 364 Spanish citizens and another 22 Finnish citizens could be deported due to the new changes. In addition, the names of 120 Swedish citizens and 94 Estonian citizens are included in the document.

Deportations Could Ocurr Due to Expired Residence Permits or Visa Violations, Expert Says
Outi Korhonen, professor of international law at the University of Turku, points out that the individuals who could be deported are likely to have issues with residence visas or visa violations and do not hold US citizenship.

Violating the terms of residence permits or visas can include working without legal permission or studying while on a tourist visa. Such violations, as the Professor confirmed, could indeed make one eligible for deportation.

As part of the deportation plan, about 1.4 million people are expected to be deported from the US, the majority of which come from Latin American countries.
