Travellers to Europe Warned About Flight Chaos Ahead of Easter Holiday

British tourists have been warned to pay close attention to their flight status before travelling to Europe, as the chances of delayed or cancelled flights are increasing.

The advice to be prepared for any change does not apply to British travellers alone but rather to all of those headed to Europe, as several air traffic strikes are expected to occur across European countries like France, Italy and Spain in the upcoming weeks, impacting air traffic significantly, Schengen.News reports.

Flight disruptions due to air traffic strikes, which could occur in Germany and Belgium too, are likely to happen ahead of the Easter holiday, as travel activity is more evident. The authorities point out that travelling on Saturday might be the most challenging, since it is one day ahead of the holiday.

Air Traffic Strikes Threaten Travel to EU Through April
According to Dion Pllana, Global Travel Analyst has pointed out that some of your favourite destinations in Europe could be impacted by the circumstances, resulting in delays.

Nationwide actions have been warned in both France and Italy, with the strike action lasting for 24 hours. Moreover, Belgium is also facing an ongoing industrial action with unions planning nationwide strikes on the 13th of every month until further notice.

Air traffic control strikes in France have been confirmed for April 18 to April 19, as well as April 25, with walkouts of workers from Paris Charles de Gaulle, Orly, Lyon, and Marseille airports being expected.

Operations across Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa, Venice, and other key airports in Italy are expected to be paused on April 19 due to a nationwide one-day-long strike.

In Spain, strikes are expected to occur in Madrid and Barcelona from April 20 to April 30, and travellers should expect delays during this period.
