All foreigners who wish to work in Singapore must first get a valid permit, also known as a work visa or work permit. The type of work visa will vary across foreign students, professionals, managers, executives, entrepreneurs, skilled and semi-skilled workers.

Training Employment Pass is for foreign professionals undergoing practical training. Candidates must earn at least $3,000 a month.
Work Holiday Pass (under Work Holiday Programme) is for students and graduates aged 18 to 25 who want to work and holiday in Singapore for 6 months.
Work pass exemption for foreign students applies to foreign students studying full-time at an approved school or institution in Singapore.
If you are a foreign student or trainee coming to Singapore under a training attachment programme, you should be holding a Training Work Permit, a Training Employment Pass, or be in the Work Holiday Programme. It is an offense for a foreign student to work in Singapore without a valid work pass.
