Republic of Turkey opens scholarships for Indian students; last date to apply is Feb 20

The Republic of Türkiye has invited students to send in their online applications for Türkiye Scholarships 2024 for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral courses.

The portal to apply for the scholarships will be open till February 20, 2024.
India's Ministry of Education in the notice for the scholarship said "Selection of candidates for the said scholarship is to be done directly by the Republic of Turkiye and the Government of India does not have any role in nomination or selection of candidates. This notice is being published for wider dissemination purpose only."

What are the programmes offered under the scholarship?
The scholarship provides opportunities at both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels, accommodating individuals pursuing bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Moreover, unique programs such as Research Scholarships, Success Scholarships, and KATİP have specific application periods.

What are the eligibility criteria?

  • Open to candidates from all countries
  • Students should be graduates or should complete their studies by the end of the current academic year (before August 2024)
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 70% in their undergraduate degree, 75% for graduate degree applicants, and 90% for candidates in Health Sciences (Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy)
  • For undergraduate programs, only those below 21 years old are allowed to apply
  •  Age limit set for PhD program is 35 years.
  • Maximum age for Research Scholarship applicants is 50 years

What are the important documents you need to keep ready?
  • A valid identity document, ID card or passport
  • A photograph of the candidate taken within the last 1 year
  • National exam results (if any)
  • Diploma or temporary graduation certificate
  • Transcript
  • International exam results (GRE, GMAT, SAT, etc.) if required by the chosen university or program.
  • A proposal for a research topic and a written example of the research you have carried out (only for PhD applications)
