Polish Embassy in Abu Dhabi Introduces New Schengen Visa Appointment System

The Embassy of Poland in the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi, has informed all foreigners residing in the country who want to apply for a Polish Schengen visa that a new appointment system, e-konsulat system, has been launched.

As explained by the Polish Embassy in Abu Dhabi, from today, November 8, 2024, foreign residents in the UAE will need to register in the system in order to be able to submit a Schengen visa application and receive an appointment date, Schengen.News reports.

The aim of the new system is to allocate appointment dates chronologically based on the date of registration. This means that those who register earlier in the system will be able to get a closer appointment date to submit their application for a short-term Polish Schengen visa.

New System Consists of 3 Stages That Require Applicants to Provide Correct Information
The entire application process through the new “e-konsulat system” consists of three stages. During these three stages, applicants have been called to strictly follow all the instructions and complete certain fields within the given period of time.

Moreover, applicants have been urged to provide all the correct information and to pay special attention to the name of the host person or company in the Schengen states and their contact details.

If this is not applicable, they have been requested to pay special attention when providing the name of the hotel they will be staying, its address, and telephone number.

Once the information is submitted, applicants will not be able to make any changes or corrections to the information that they have provided.

Appointment Dates Will Be Assigned Twice a Week
As explained by the authorities, the system will assign appointment dates twice a week. The information about the visa interview will be sent via e-mail to the applicants, and each person will receive information about their appointment date based on when they submitted their information to the system.

The new rules will only affect foreigners residing in the UAE who need a visa to enter the bloc. UAE passport holders are exempted from the requirement to obtain a Schengen visa. They are permitted visa-free entry to the Schengen Area.
