Over 4,500 People Became Obtained Spanish Nationality in Almería, in 2023

A total of 4,563 people acquired nationality in the Spanish province of Almería last year, according to Pablo Garcia’s independent analysis.

The same reveals that this number accounts for 1.9 percent of all acquisitions in Spain. In 49 percent of the cases, it corresponds to women and 52 percent to men, Schengen. News reports.

The analysis revealed that about 55.4 percent of those who were registered for the acquisition of nationality in this region were people by the age of 19, followed by those between the ages of 20 to 39 years old (25 percent) and 40 to 59 years old, and only 1.3 percent were people older than 60 years.

The analysis reveals that the majority of nationality acquisitions or 93 per cent of them, were made through residence, which requires a period of residence and requirements of good conduct among others.

The second most used option was the one for people with certain family ties in Spain. 6.9 per cent of nationalities were acquired through this method in this Spanish region.

According to the analysis of Pablo Garcia, at present, there are about 170,000 internationals from worldwide countries living in the region of Almería. The majority of them or a total of 85,291, come from the African continent.

In January 2024, the province exceeded the barrier of 80,000 international workers affiliated with Social Security for the first time, the majority of them in the agricultural industry.

Last year, the figures from the Spanish National Statistics Institute (INE) revealed that the number of internationals who acquired Spanish nationality surged by 32.3 percent to a total of 240,208.

The majority of persons who acquired nationality in Spain last year were nationals from Morocco (54,027), Venezuela (30,154), and Colombia (18,738).

The figures from the INE also revealed that Cataluña (60,846) and Comunidad de Madrid (50,049) were the communities with the most acquisitions of Spanish citizenship.45.2 percent of internationals who obtained Spanish nationality last year were men and 54.8 percent were women.
