Nova Scotia is set to implement a significant update to its Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) endorsement process starting May 1, 2025. The province will transition from the existing AIP Online portal to the Labour Market Programs Support System (LaMPSS), aiming to enhance efficiency and user experience for employers and applicants alike .
Transition Overview
• Effective Date: May 1, 2025.
• New Platform: LaMPSS will replace the AIP Online portal for endorsement applications.
• Application Cut-off: The current AIP Online portal will cease accepting new endorsement applications after April 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
• Designation Applications: Employers seeking AIP Designation will continue to use the existing AIP Online portal for the foreseeable future .
Key Features of LaMPSS
• Mobile-Friendly Interface: Accessible across smartphones, tablets, and desktops, allowing employers to manage applications conveniently.
• Error-Reducing Prompts: Built-in reminders and guidance help ensure accurate and complete submissions, minimizing delays.
• Flexible User Permissions: Authorized Signing Officers can assign multiple representatives to handle applications, streamlining workflows for larger organizations.
• Comprehensive Support: The Immigration and Population Growth (IPG) Branch will provide training materials, user guides, and dedicated support channels. Employers can reach out via email at AIP-Online@novascotia.ca or call 1-902-424-5230 for assistance .
Preparing for the Transition
1. Verify Designation Status: Existing AIP designations remain valid; no reapplication is necessary.

3. Authenticate My NS Account: The IPG Branch will send a link to authenticate your “My NS Account” login, required to access the new endorsement application forms in LaMPSS.
4. Familiarize with LaMPSS: Utilize training materials and support resources provided by the IPG Branch to become comfortable with the new system.
5. Submit Pending Applications Early: Ensure any pending applications are submitted through the current AIP Online portal before the April 30, 2025, deadline to avoid disruptions .
Additional Information
• Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP): A federal-provincial initiative launched in 2017 and made permanent in 2022, designed to address labour shortages and boost population growth in Atlantic Canada. It allows designated employers to hire skilled international workers and recent graduates to fill critical job vacancies.
• Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP): A separate provincial immigration program that nominates medical experts, entrepreneurs, skilled workers, and foreign graduates for permanent residence in Canada through ten different immigration streams .
This transition to LaMPSS reflects Nova Scotia’s commitment to improving service delivery and staying competitive in attracting global talent. Employers and applicants are encouraged to prepare for the change to ensure a smooth transition
