MEA issues warning for Indians against fake job offers in Cambodia and Laos.

In response to rising incidents of employment scams targeting Indian nationals, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued an advisory for those traveling to Laos and Cambodia for job opportunities.

The advisory outlines significant risks associated with fraudulent job offers and emphasizes the need for caution.

Employment Scams in Cambodia and Southeast Asia

The advisory warns Indian nationals about the presence of numerous fake agents operating in Cambodia and the broader Southeast Asian region.

These agents, often in collaboration with counterparts in India, lure individuals into scam companies that are primarily involved in cybercrimes.

To avoid falling victim to such schemes, the MEA strongly advises job seekers to secure employment only through authorized agents approved by the Ministry.

For assistance, individuals can contact the Embassy of India in Phnom Penh via email at cons.phnompenh@mea.gov.in or yisa.phnompenh@mea.gov.in.
