Italian authorities have opened a new Visa Application Centre in Jakarta, Indonesia, for Indonesian travellers who need to obtain a visa for Italy.
The new centre aimed to facilitate the accommodation of Indonesian visitors to Italy while also promoting Italian culture, language, art, science, and products made in Italy, Schengen
Commenting on the move, Italian Ambassador to Indonesia Benedetto Latteri said that this will ease the demands of Indonesian and East Timorese citizens who, in ever-increasing numbers, wish to travel to Italy for tourism, business, work or religious reasons.
VFS Global, a leading global outsourcing and technology services company for governments and diplomatic missions, operates Jakarta’s new Visa Application Center (VAC).
Since 2004, VFS Global has had a long relationship with the Italian government. It also offers convenient and optimized services to meet users’ needs, simplify the application process, and facilitate travel.
At the same time, the new facilities have extended hours and are equipped with modern equipment and services.
Staff are available to assist users at every stage of the procedure. Dedicated call centre support, email assistance, and passport home delivery further enhance the service.
In this regard, the Deputy Director of AMT Italy at VFS Global expressed his great joy regarding this cooperation with Indonesia, stressing that this is the best way to expand the partnership between these two countries.
Moreover, last year, Italy ranked as the world’s fourth most popular tourist destination, with 57.25 million international arrivals, including nearly half a million Indonesian visitors.
During the same year, Italian authorities worked to reduce the waiting time for all Indonesians applying for Schengen visas, as Italy faced many Schengen visa applications.
