Indian nationals holding Green Cards or residence permits from six new countries now qualify for visa-on-arrival entry in the UAE. The expansion has increased the opportunities for Indian passport holders to enter UAE points of entry.
New UAE rules permit Indian citizens with valid visas, residence permits, or Green Cards from Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada to access visa-on-arrival services. The new UAE visa-on-arrival rules for Indians are in place from February 13, 2025.
This policy was previously in place for Indian nationals with valid documentation from the United States, European Union member states, and the United Kingdom.
Indian nationals must meet UAE requirements for the program, including a valid passport with at least six months of validity and a valid visa, residence permit, or Green Card from among the specified countries.
The UAE has established three visa categories for Indian travelers, each with a low related fee. A 4-day visa costs AED100, while a 14-day extension costs AED250. There is also a 60-day visa, which costs AED250.
The initiative aims to simplify travel for Indian citizens, providing new opportunities for exploring life, residency, and employment in the UAE.
In general, if you’re planning a visit to Dubai, there are various types of tourist visas to accommodate different travel needs, depending on your eligibility:
• A single-entry tourist visa, valid for 30 days or 60 days
• A multiple-entry tourist visa, valid for 30 days or 60 days
• A multiple-entry long-term tourist visa, valid for five years
• A transit visa, one for 48 hours and another for 96 hours
• Visa on arrival, either for 30 days or 90 days contingent on nationality
• Visa on arrival for Indians who have a visit visa issued by the USA, or a green card issued by the USA, or a visit visa/residence permit issued by the UK or the EU in addition to Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.
• eVisa for residents of GCC countries (GCC citizens are eligible for visa-free entry).
