Hurun reveals the top 10 richest NRIs in the world; check full list

A total of 102 NRIs featured on the 2024 Hurun India Rich List released on Wednesday, with nearly 79% of them being self-made.

With 46 individuals, the USA is the most preferred country for NRIs, followed by the UAE and the UK. With Rs 192,700 crore, Gopichand Hinduja & family of Hinduja is the wealthiest NRI. With a fortune of Rs 160,900 Cr, LN Mittal & family is the wealthiest NRI living in the UK.

Following closely is Anil Agarwal & family, whose wealth stands at Rs 1,11,400 crore. Based in London, Agarwal is the founder and chairman of Vedanta Resources, a major player in mining and natural resources. His 70 years have been marked by significant contributions to the global mining sector.

Shapoor Pallonji Mistry, residing in Monaco, holds the fourth position with a wealth of Rs 91,400 crore. At 59, he is the chairman of Shapoorji Pallonji Group, a construction and real estate giant with a notable global footprint.

Sri Prakash Lohia, with a wealth of Rs 73,100 crore, is the sixth richest NRI. Living in London, Lohia is the chairman of Indorama, a global player in petrochemicals and textiles. His 72 years of age underscore his longstanding influence in the industry.

In seventh place is Vivek Chaand Sehgal & family, residing in Dubai with a wealth of Rs 62,600 crore. At 67, Sehgal is the chairman of Samvardhana Motherson International, known for its automotive components and global manufacturing reach.

Yusuff Ali MA, based in Abu Dhabi, holds the eighth spot with Rs 55,000 crore. At 68, he is the founder and chairman of Lulu Group International, a major player in retail and shopping malls.

Rakesh Gangwal & family, residing in Miami, have a net worth of Rs 37,400 crore, placing them ninth. At 71, Gangwal is the co-founder of Interglobe Aviation, which operates IndiGo, India's largest airline by passenger numbers.

Finally, Romesh T Wadhwani, based in Palo Alto, rounds out the top ten with a wealth of Rs 36,900 crore. At 77, he is the founder of Symphony Technology Group, a firm specializing in software and technology investments.
