Google Maps gets 2 new features; will solve these common problems that users face
Google has announced two new features to its navigation service -- Google Maps.
With the recent update, Google is making it easier for users to report incidents to help other people travelling via the same route.
In addition to this, Google Maps is also getting a new guidance feature that aims to solve the most common problems like entry and exit points of a building, parking location at the destination, etc.

Google Maps will now update users with more information about the destination they are heading to.
For instance, if you are travelling to a new building; a new destination card will pop up from the bottom with details like parking location, entry gate, etc.
Maps’ new destination guidance will automatically light up your building and its entrance as you approach it, in addition to showing you nearby parking lots.
Destination guidance in Maps starts rolling out globally on Android and iOS, cars with Google Built-in, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in the coming weeks.
Improved incident reports
With the update, Google Maps is getting an improved incident reporting feature.
Earlier the app used to offer a couple of options as a part of incident reports. However, now users can be more specific while reporting the incidents.
As a part of the update, users can now report nearby construction, lane closure, objects and police presence too.
It is important to note that Maps will now show the reports from both Maps users and Waze communities. The reporting icons are no bigger than before.
In addition to this, other drivers on the route can confirm the report to help other drivers travelling through the same route.
This improved way to report incidents on Maps is rolling out globally now on Android and iOS, cars with Google built-in, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
