Permanent residents (PRs) of Canada, can gain visa-free entry into a number of countries.
Bermuda
Entry: Visa-free for short stays
Flight time: Direct flights from Toronto to Hamilton (capital of Bermuda) are approximately three hours.
Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic, known for its colourful buildings, turquoise waters, and unique blend of British and island culture.
Its capital, Hamilton, offers dining, shopping, and historic charm, while the island’s famous pink sand beaches (like Horseshoe Bay) are great for relaxing or swimming.
Visitors can also explore the UNESCO-listed town of St. George or tee off on one of Bermuda’s golf courses.
The Bahamas
Entry: Visa-free for up to 30 days
Flight time: Direct flights from Toronto to Nassau (the capital) in under three and a half hours; flights from other parts of Canada may require stopovers.
This island country is known for its crystal-clear waters, white sand beaches, and water sports, making it a great destination for anyone who wants to snorkel, swim, or simply relax in a scenic setting. Its capital, Nassau, is also famous for its pastel-coloured buildings, history, and luxury resorts.
Special requirements (if any): Permanent residents need to have a return ticket, a passport with a Canadian PR card with expiry dates three months or more after return from The Bahamas in case of direct travel, and six months in case transiting through other countries such as the US.
Costa Rica

Special requirements (if any): To enter Costa Rica, Canadian permanent residents must show a valid PR card with at least one day of validity and proof of funds of at least USD $100 for each month of their stay.
The Dominican Republic
