Canada Citizenship intake in FY 2023-2024
393,500 citizens were welcomed in Canada between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024. The citizenship intake in FY 2023-2024 surpassed last year’s intake of around 364,000 new citizens.
IRCC is celebrating Citizenship Week from May 13 to May 19 in an attempt to reflect on the significance of Canadian citizenship. Canada's immigration minister will attend citizenship ceremonies and visit organizations that offer newcomer services in Canada.
Toronto is to celebrate its annual Newcomer Day on May 23, 2024. As part of the celebration, people can visit Nathan Phillips Square and attend citizenship ceremonies. They can also gather information on employment, settlement services, and the history of Canada.
