Aruba has revamped its Online ED Card system, making entry smoother for visitors. With a redesigned portal and a new $20 sustainability fee, travelers can expect a faster and more efficient arrival process.

Aruba a constituent island country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, has introduced an upgraded version of its online Embarkation/Disembarkation (ED) Card, aiming to simplify and speed up the entry process for travellers arriving by air or sea. 

The new system, launched on October 30, 2024, features a more user-friendly interface and an improved qualification process to enhance the overall travel experience. 

What is the Aruba Online ED Card? 
The Aruba Embarkation/Disembarkation (ED) Card is a mandatory digital entry form that all visitors, including infants and children, must complete before travelling to the island. 

Similar to entry systems in destinations like Dominica, the British Virgin Islands, and Sint Maarten, this online form standardizes immigration procedures and ensures a smoother arrival process.

How to Complete Aruba’s Online ED Card 
Travellers can access the updated ED Card portal at edcardaruba.aw. The form requires visitors to upload a copy of their passport and provide essential travel details. 

Once submitted and approved, travellers receive a “qualifier” (formerly known as an “OK to board” green tick), indicating authorization to enter Aruba. 

Sustainability Fee for Responsible Tourism 
As part of Aruba’s commitment to sustainable tourism, a $20 sustainability fee is now required when completing the ED Card online. 

This fee must be paid via Visa, Mastercard, or Discover and contributes directly to preserving Aruba’s natural beauty, including its pristine beaches, unique biodiversity, and iconic pink flamingos.

Entry Requirements for Aruba 
To enter Aruba, all travellers must meet the following criteria: 

• Valid Passport: Passports must be less than 10 years old and valid for the duration of the stay. 
• Visa-Free Access: Citizens of the United States, Canada, European Union nations, and most South American countries (including Colombia and Venezuela) can enter Aruba Visa-Free. 
• Proof of Return Travel: A return ticket or transit confirmation is necessary. 
• Reason for Stay: Travelers must provide proof of accommodation, such as a hotel reservation or an invitation from relatives. 
• Sufficient Funds: Visitors must demonstrate financial capability to cover their stay. 
• Security and Health Compliance: Travelers should not pose a risk to public order, health, national security, or international relations.
