5 countries offering work visas with proof of funds!
  • 5 countries offer work visas with proof of funds starting as low as GBP1270
  • Germany, Finland, New Zealand, Canada, and the United Kingdom are a few countries that offer work visa pathways with proof of funds.
  • Germany announced 21 pathways to work, live or study in the country.
  • Finland plans to increase work-based migration to 30,000 individuals annually.
  Proof of funds requirement

Most countries with work visa give way to permanent residency by having a minimum proof of funds requirement for applicants.

Individuals willing to work in these countries need to confirm minimum proof of funds to avoid being financially grounded.

These work visas play an important role in moving talent across different countries, usually requiring employer sponsorship from employers who make the job offers, handle the necessary paperwork, and meet legal requirements.

Germany

Germany announced that it has 21 pathways for individuals to work, live or study in the country in the Agriculture, Construction, and Transportation sectors
  • The country made the process simpler for skilled workers to obtain the Blue Card visa, particularly allowing foreign workers to get a job at a lower salary threshold.
  • Holders of the Blue card also benefit as it is a pathway to permanent residency after becoming eligible as early as 21 months after moving to Germany.
  • The applicant’s bank balance must show a minimum amount of EUR 5,682 while applying for Blue Card.

Finland

Finland plans to increase work-based migration to 30,000 individuals annually.

Through its initiatives, the country has been inspiring international workers to address the growing labor crisis.
  • Some of Finland's initiatives include the ‘Work in Finland’ and ‘Talent Boost’ programs, which provide opportunities for innovators and researchers.
  • The country is actively looking for skilled professionals worldwide due to the rising workforce shortage affecting important sectors like healthcare, personal care, social work, daycare teaching, and construction.
  • Applicants applying for a residence permit must have sufficient funds of about EUR 2,000 to live in Finland.

New Zealand

New Zealand has increased its Green List to add a wide range of professions in sectors like construction, automotive, information technology, and engineering, which would enable it to use the Green List visas when looking for specialized talent not readily found among the local workforce.
  • New Zealand also introduced a new visa program for eligible care workers, providing an opportunity for permanent residence, work, and study in New Zealand. The application includes partners and dependent children under 24.
  • Applicants applying for their work permit visa in New Zealand are required to submit proof of funds of at least NZD $4,200 when they apply. Documents such as bank statements, credit card statements, bank drafts, or travellers’ cheques should be submitted.

Canada

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) in Canada expanded opportunities for immigrants in Saskatchewan.
  • 279 additional occupations were included for this expansion, ranging from farm labourers to truck drivers, nurse aides, retail sales, and equipment operators.
  • Canada also announced that employers in seven selected sectors (Food Manufacturing, Wood Product Manufacturing, Furniture and Related Product Manufacturing, Accommodation and Food Services, Construction, Hospitals, and Nursing and Residential Care Facilities) may continue to hire up to 30% of their workforce in low-wage positions through work permits for foreign talents.
  • Individuals immigrating to Canada after April 2023, must meet specific financial requirements to make sure they can support themselves and their families upon arrival. These minimum proofs of funds vary based on the number of family members accompanying the primary applicant.
  • The required settlement fund for a single person immigrating to Canada is $13,757 CAD. If the applicant is bringing one family member, the amount increases to $17,127 CAD. For a family of three, the necessary funds are $21,055 CAD, while a family of four needs to show $25,564 CAD.

United Kingdom

The UK government is open to hiring foreign talents as long as they earn £38,700 ($48,900), up from the current £26,200 ($33,000) to obtain a UK work visa.
  • Successful applicants, however, must have at least £1,270 in their bank account to show they can support themselves in the UK.
