5 Countries That Are Likely to Grant You a Schengen Visa if You Are a Turkish National

Portugal, Italy, Slovakia, Poland and Spain are five Schengen countries that have the highest visa approvals for Turkish nationals, indicating that chances for these countries to grant visas are the highest out of 27 Schengen member states.

According to statistics published by Schengen Visa Info, Turkish nationals who applied for a Schengen visa in these five countries had between 86.5 and 93 per cent approval rates, Schengen.News reports.

To be more specific, the approval rates for Schengen visa applications filed by Turkish nationals in 2023 are as follows:

• Portugal granted 93 per cent of visa applications, representing 1,010 approved visas.
• Italy – 91.1 per cent approval rates, accounting for 10,936 issued visas.
• Slovakia – 88.8 per cent (2,236).
• Poland – 86.6 per cent (8,232).

• Spain – 86.5 (29,652).

Here Are the Top Destinations for Turkish Applicants to Apply for Schengen Visas
It is important to note that the five countries mentioned above do not receive as many applications for Schengen visas. In 2023, Greece and Germany received the highest number of visa applications filed by Turkish nationals – 254,377 and 253,462, respectively. Nearly half (48 per cent) of visa requests that Turks filed in 2023 were registered in these two countries.

The third and fourth most popular destinations were France (140,104) and Italy (125,428), while the Netherlands ranks fifth for receiving most visa applications for the year.

Turks filed 93,870 visa applications to the Netherlands in 2023. The total number of visa applications that these five countries received was 867,241, which is 82.1 per cent of the total number.

5 Countries That Are a No-Go for Turkish Visa Applicants Due to High Rejection Rates
Over 82 per cent of visa applications filed by Turks in 2023 were approved, resulting in 867,646 issued visas. However, the remaining 16 per cent were rejected, which is 169,514 applications receiving a negative decision.

Here are the five Schengen countries that had the highest rejection rates for visa applicants from Türkiye:

• Estonia – 42.4 per cent of applications were rejected, representing 741 visa rejections
• Denmark – 36.4 per cent (3,175)
• Lithuania – 35.6 per cent (860)
• Finland – 31 per cent (1,251)
• Norway – 28.8 per cent (1,150)

These countries have high rejection rates for Turkish nationals, but completing the application and putting in the correct information can boost the chances for applicants to be granted a visa, regardless of the country.
