10 airports with the most international passengers in 2024: Who’s on top?

Dubai, UAE (DXB)

Dubai International Airport remains the world leader in international travel, with over 92 million passengers in 2024. It shows a 6.1% rise from 2023 and 7% from 2019.

London, UK (LHR)

London Heathrow continues strong performance with nearly 80 million international passengers. Its 4.1% growth since 2019 reaffirms its position as Europe’s most connected air hub.

Incheon, Korea (ICN)

Incheon International Airport sees dramatic growth, climbing to 3rd place with a 26.7% rise over 2023. It handled 70 million international travellers, nearing pre-pandemic volumes.

Singapore, Singapore (SIN)

Singapore Changi Airport handled 67 million international passengers, climbing one spot from 2023. It recorded a 14.8% rise from last year, reflecting Southeast Asia’s aviation rebound.

Amsterdam, Netherlands (AMS)

Amsterdam Schiphol handled nearly 67 million international travellers in 2024, but is down 6.8% compared to 2019. Still, it maintains its place among Europe’s busiest air gateways.

Paris, France (CDG)

Charles de Gaulle Airport served 64 million international passengers in 2024. Although down 7.7% from 2019, its role as a major European hub remains strong.

Istanbul, Turkey (IST)

Istanbul Airport shines with over 62 million international passengers, boasting a huge 59.1% rise since 2019. It is one of the fastest-growing international hubs globally.

Frankfurt, Germany (FRA)

Frankfurt Airport handled over 56 million international travellers in 2024. Despite a 10.9% drop from 2019, it retains its strategic importance in European and transatlantic travel.

Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR (HKG)

Hong Kong Airport rebounds with 52.9 million international passengers in 2024—an impressive 34.4% jump from 2023—though still 25.7% lower than 2019 figures.

Doha, Qatar (DOH)

Doha Airport served 52.7 million international travellers in 2024, showing remarkable growth of 14.8% from 2023 and a strong 35.9% increase over 2019.
